Announcement from SFS regarding SP-22 Unofficial Status

Dear Students,

As the Spring 2022 (SP-22) semester approaches, our office wanted to send a few updates regarding the Unofficial process. Beginning with this academic year, financial aid paperwork and/or payment is due on or before the Monday before the first day of the semester. For SP-22, most students will only need to make payment on or before January 3, 2022. If you need to accept or decline updated award amounts or complete any other paperwork, please do so asap.

There are several campus closures coming up, due to the holiday season. Campus Offices are closed on the dates listed below. You will not be able to call or come into the office for assistance. Personnel will not be responding to emails. Please plan accordingly so you do not miss the deadline and risk being dropped from classes.

CAMPUS OFFICE CLOSURES

  • Wednesday, November 24, 2021 – Friday, November 26, 2021

  • Wednesday, December 22, 2021 – Monday, January 3, 2022

January 3, 2022, happens to fall on a day offices are closed for the holiday. Payment for SP-22 should still be made on or before Monday, January 3, 2022. You may make payment before the winter break by paying in person or mailing a check to the Cashier’s Office, calling the Cashier to pay by phone or pay on the student portal. If you need to make payment during the winter break, you may still mail-in check or pay on the student portal. If you are waiting until the deadline date to make payment and need to pay with credit card over the phone or pay in person you will be able to do so on Tuesday, January 4, 2022. We will not be dropping students for non-payment on Tuesday as we need time to process payments from the break and those needing to pay on the Tuesday we return to the office. We expect Tuesday to be very busy and ask in advance for patience as we work to assist you.

Please note that the Unofficial emails will be sent out once per week, beginning Wednesday, November 3, 2021. If you only need to make payment and are intentionally waiting until the deadline date to pay you do not need to respond to the weekly email. It will continue to be sent out automatically until payment is made. If you believe you are getting the Unofficial Email in error, please email sfs@rochesteru.edu asap so we can review your account.

Finish FA-21 strong and we look forward to a successful SP-22.

Thank you.
